I always love your writing, Beth, and this one went straight tto the heart. My Dad is in his mid-nineties and, while I shall never be a grandmother, I keenly observe his efforts to contribute to my life and the lives of my siblings and their children. I see the pride and the regret, and the love that fuels them both.
